Taxi from Maastricht to Charleroi Airport
Brussels South at Charleroi is the low-cost airport, and despite the name it lies a good hour south of Brussels. From Maastricht it is about two hours by road. By train and shuttle bus you are on the way considerably longer.
Careful: this is not Zaventem
Brussels South and Brussels Airport are two different airports, a good hour apart. Low-cost tickets often say only "Brussels" while you actually need Charleroi. Check the airport code: CRL is Charleroi, BRU is Zaventem.

Early departures
Charleroi has many flights leaving around six in the morning, which means leaving Maastricht around three, exactly when no train runs. Please book those rides in advance.
Travelling as a group or with bulky luggage
With more than four passengers we send a minibus. It also helps when there are four of you but the luggage is bulky: ski gear, a pushchair, golf bags or a wheelchair.
